Winter Classic and Jack

For those unaware the NHL has begun an annual, outdoor game called the Winter Classic. This year's was hosted by Wrigley Field, just blocks from our apartment. Now this becomes important as it pertains to our puppy in that we have been looking for a new home for him. The hypocrites that run our building have not budged on their stance of "no dogs" except theirs. While we had found several places to move to, the route of finding Jack a new home seemed the most sane.

Back to the hockey game on New Years...

Our neighborhood was over run like a Cubs game but with hockey fans. A particular couple saw Tiff out for a walk with Jack and like everyone he met, they fell instantly in love with him. Turns out they were trying to find a new Lab that would not get as big as their current, elderly Lab. They got Tiff's number and came by later to see him again. Turns out they lived in the suburbs on an acre and had 4 kids to play with him. We had had to take Jack to the ER the night before (New Years Eve) and he had been diagnosed with common Kennel Cough. Due to the contagious nature of Kennel Cough, the couple wanted to wait till Sat. to pick him up.

The next 2 days were not fun, waiting to see Jack go. We are glad to have served as the segue to Jack's new home, but to be honest it's still a little rough to see the feel good part as more than interesting. We want to get a dog when we get a new place and now we know we will be looking for said place come April.

Most times the best thing to do is also the hardest! Jack Frost has touched your hearts and now will capture more hearts with a new home. Thank you for sharing his story and face.............
