My wife has found a passion for animals in recent years. From rescues to using anti-cruelty products, she has become a true activist. She even goes to the capital to help lobby for reform. I've long believed the best recruiting tool is example and I am proud of hers. It has changed our daily lives by giving up products that test on animals and we have become full time vegetarians (part time vegans). While none of these steps were easy, we feel good about the direction we are taking. I have a peace of mind in my consumption and consumerism that is hard to imagine giving up. I am less vocal than my wonderful wife, but I try and do what I can. I run for charities now in my marathons and demonstrate that not eating meat has not hindered my performance as an endurance runner. If anything , I have improved drastically since giving up meat. Last year I shaved 12 min off my marathon time and completed 3, with 2 being just a couple weeks apart. I have not been injured nor have I been sick in over a year. That's me though. I am happy if Tiff and I help make a difference but also hope we can serve as a positive example.
